Curatorial Statement

 noun: Vessel; plural noun: Vessels

1.      a hollow container, especially one used to hold liquid, such as a bowl or cask.

Similar: repository, reservatory

(Chiefly in or alluding to biblical use) a person, especially regarded as holding or embodying a particular quality. "Lord, use this lowly vessel, let me serve You as You will"

Artists are infused with this “quality” that I cannot always put an adjective to, but they can pour out this quality into what we consume as “art”

In the realm of artistic creation, the vessel transcends its traditional identity as a mere carrier or container. Within this exhibition, the term 'vessel' evolves into a profound representation of artists themselves—individuals who encapsulate emotions, stories, and perspectives within the vessels of their chosen mediums.

The exhibited artworks stand as vessels, not merely as physical objects, but as manifestations of the artists' inner worlds. Each piece is a vessel of narrative, capturing the fluidity of thoughts, the intensity of emotions, and the depth of experiences. These vessels, shaped by the artists' hands and minds, become conduits through which their creativity flows.

The concept of 'vessels' extends beyond the physical forms presented; it encompasses the artists themselves as vessels of inspiration, innovation, and introspection. Through their art, these vessels beckon us to peer into their souls, offering glimpses of imagination and interpretation.

In this collection, 'Vessels' celebrates the symbiotic relationship between artists and their creations—a dynamic interplay where the vessel is both the artist and the art. It beckons viewers to ponder the multifaceted nature of creativity, inviting them to embark on an introspective voyage, exploring the profound connections between the vessel, the artist, and the beholder.
