Scissor Bell
Many may recall Lain York’s last outing at Nashville’s own, Frist Center for the Visual Arts that featured themes of early American presidencies rendered in cut vinyl. Vinyl continues to be the dominant choice of materials as Scissor Bell signals a return to the more abstracted design work. Color, design, and texture convey themes of portraits, landscapes, and architecture in bright colors and shapes reminiscent of synthetic cubist-era Picasso and Stuart Davis.
