In the spirit of collaboration, Zeitgeist and Fashion Happening Nashville are bringing together seven local fashion designers and artists to work together on an original garment incorporating textiles created by the artist.

Wearable Surfaces runs August 5 to 26, with a preview night August 4th benefiting The Sewing Training Academy.

Joining the ranks of Zeitgeist's past applied design exhibits featuring graphic design and furniture, this will be Zeitgeist's first exhibit exploring the art of fashion.

Included in the exhibit are Project Runway star, Amanda Valentine, working with her husband, filmmaker and painter, Will Morgan Holland. Maria Silver of Black by Maria Silver is teaming up with realist painter, Kelly Williams of David Lusk Gallery. Handbag designer Ceri Hoover, whose flagship store is located on 12th S, is collaborating with ceramicist Sarah Cihat. Emily Herron of fashion label Emlee is working with wallpaper designers Kelly Deihl and Elizabeth Williams of New Hat Projects. Menswear designer Eric Adler is teaming up with landscape painter Megan Lightell. Kate Brown of childrenswear brand Morton and Mabel is collaborating with muralist Emily Miller and Ashley Balding of womenswear brand Ona Rex is working with photographer Brett Warren.
