Chris Scarborough- Yoga Tako Rewind
Chris Scarborough is a Nashville-based artist who is known predominantly for his paintings and photographs. Portraits of friends and family conveying narratives of trouble and distress are often combined with elements of Japanese anime and a Pop-culture sentiment that is at the same time alluring and disturbing.
Chris’ latest graphite drawings also seek to draw the viewer in with coy, innocent figures that upon closer inspection instill a feeling of discomfort. This disparity is emphasized with obsessive and delicate drawings that according to the artist hark back to a more innocent time in his life when the art making process was more closely tied to free associations and compulsive drawing.
Chris’s work has been featured in New York, Chicago, and in numerous shows at Zeitgeist. |
