Exhibit Description:
Memory of Water
Bjorn Sterri is an Oslo, Norway-based photographer whose latest body of work is titled Memory of Water. Sterri works with large format, color Polaroid and and SX70 Polaroid cameras and explores the experience of his immediate family. Culled from the period of 2001 to 2007, the work touches on the complicated relationship of memory, the record of that memory- the photograph, and the actual experience. The title of this exhibition infers that for Sterri, it is a very fluid one.

Bjorn Sterri comes to us from a very successful exhibition of his work at PhotoEspaña in Madrid and an honourable mention at the Descrubrimientos07. Memory of Water is a continuation of Bjorn’s 2001 Fugitive Art Center exhibition, Breathe Keep Breathing.

Gallery hours are 11AM to 5PM Tuesday through Saturday. For more information please call Janice Zeitlin or Lain York at 615-256-4805.
